| Hello everyone! Simply stated, I'm a n00b. Didn't realize my love for reading until a few years ago and my passion for writing was completely unknown to me until it came and bit me in the rear this past spring. Noticed an icon on my desktop from the year before where I jotted down a few ideas. I forgot about the file because no sooner did I write the ideas did I realize I was insane for thinking I could write. Last May, I was doing "housekeeping" on my laptop and almost deleted the file. Curious, I opened it, liked what I read and jumped in with both feet. Six weeks later I had a 300 page novel in that file. I am a home schooling mother to 4 children, president over our children's Sunday school at church and Boy Scout leader. I finally found my passion during the busiest time in my life and I squeeze in daily writing whenever I can. I'm constantly on the lookout for information to absorb as I improve my craft. New to forum boards, I apologize for my slow start but I look forward to being an active particpent as I edit my MS and begin the quest for an agent and publication. Thank you for an opportunity to be a part of this forum. ~Karen | |

| Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!! I am a noob, to forums, to writing, to critiquing and editing-pretty much everything. I've learned so much especially through critiques/critiquing and I have a long way to go I'm sure. So I certainly appreciate the opportunity to being a part of this community. Please, if I'm not doing something I should be or doing something I shouldn't, just let me know. I'm making my way around all the guidelines for the boards. I look forward to the time I no longer can claim noob. ~Karen | |

| Hi Karen! Did you give up sleeping during those six weeks to fit in the writing time? Wow! I'm completely new to this whole thing, too. So you're not alone. I'm looking forward to finding more time to put into critiquing and reading your story. "See" you around, Christy | |

| It was a crazy time. The whole story was in my head bursting to come out. I just wrote in the evenings with the peak writing time hitting from 11-2, then I would crash and literally fall asleep while typing. LOL. It was crazy...but fun.
Editing is taking a lot longer simply because I'm learning along the way. Such a wonderful community!! <3 | |

| Thanks for checking out our blog. I tried to message you from there, but, uh, couldn't. I'm not very savvy with all things web yet. Yeah, I'm stuck in the editing process too. I'm not sure I'll ever get out. Fun though! (Most of the time!) I have two children, ages 4 and 2. I teach in the mornings and get to be home with them in the afternoons. Writing hasn't been happening very much at all lately! Good luck with your edits! | |

| Christy, Oops. I have 2 gmail accounts. One is hooked up to my blog, email, etc and I usually comment on blogs with that one. But if I'm logged into the other account....it's just messy. Sorry about that. Good luck with getting the time to write-it certainly can be challenging. Looking forward in getting to know you and read your work. ~Karen | |

| Homeschooling with 4 children!? Going to sleep at 2 with 4 children? What a super-mom! I get so cranky if I don't get my eight hour sleep with my three year old twins. They're at kindergarten during the day, so that's not the reason. As you can imagine, I have to go to sleep early in the weekends, or I'm seriously in a bad mood when they wake me up at 6.30 AM. Anyways! Welcome to the forum. I agree with Rach: your picture looks like a cover picture for the back of your future book ^.^ | |

| I'm anything but super, but thanks! Just trying to keep everything together so I can accomplish all I want/need to do in a day. I usually don't make the habit of staying up until 2. I have early birds...but with my kids being a little older, I can sleep in just a little. Tessa, 3 yo twins? You certainly have your hands full, but what fun adventures you much have. 3 is such a cute age! Everyone is so sweet and gracious here. I'm excited to know and to work with each of you! ~K PS Thanks Tessa & Rach The picture is over a year old, but I like it too. I can use it for the next decade right? | |

| Far as I'm concerned, once you take a picture, it's yours to use for life I tried to upload a real pikkie of me and the computer had a conniption, so I found a little avatar that looks heaps like me instead So now I can stay forever young too (tee hee)!!! | |
