| So I am a 31-year-old mother to 3 young boys who attempts to claim the age 29 and no one believes me It's just yrs people, throw me a bone! O.K., went off the subject of writing there. I am writing a YA Paranormal about a girl who finds herself prophesied to play an important role in the war between Heaven and Hell. But to fulfill this destiny she must first die. After WriteOnCon and the many links to awesome agent blogs and such, I have become increasingly self conscious about my writing and in desperate need of help! I am very grateful to El, L.L or Tangynt? lol, for setting up this site. Thanks! Also, for information purposes, I have 6 other books in the outline phase: 4 YA Paranormals, 1 YA Utopia and 1 Paranormal Thriller. My brain is getting overcrowded! Lol! | |

| Welcome! my Caleb is also destined to play an important role in the war between Heaven and Hell. *Hugs the poor boy* At least we have that in common! And I'm sure you aren't the only one feeling both empowered and simultaneously intimidated by what happened at Write On Con. But! We are all here to help one another, and give each other a leg up. | |

That has to be one of the best hooks I've seen so far. Lots of room there for conflict and struggle. Anyway, I never try to pass younger than I am, because there's no way in he&% that I'd want to go back Yes, my life has been good, great even, but the older I get, the wiser I get, and I really enjoy that. This is good, because I never get depressed when I have a birthday Welcome to our group, and I'm looking forwards to see you in the forums! Tessa

| I'm with Tessa - great hook! I'd love to know more about that story On wars between heaven and hell - have you read Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett? Not YA, probably not anything close to what you're writing, but it's a hilarious war rendition | |

Wow, you have a great attitude on aging, one I should learn to adopt. I suppose I am getting wiser, but darn it I keep getting older too! My twenties sort of passed me by, never got around to do the things I had planned Marieke- Thanks I haven't read that one, but I will check it out Rachael- Hi The A stands for Amanda:)

Ah, there lies the difference, I believe. I had already done all the things I'd planned before I turned 30. I had finished my education, clubbed, gotten married (which is unusual in Iceland if you haven't had children yet!), gotten a job, lived overseas for over two years (Denmark), traveled all to various distant and no-so-distant places on the planet, got my TKD black belt, learned belly-dance, bought an apartment (we had to take a big loan for it), bought a car (two, actually - but we saved up money for them first), bought baby stuff for when we'd have a baby (wasn't expecting twins!), and had money in our savings account. Then I gave birth to my babies when I was 29. I just felt ready when the big 30 came

| I like it. There is less hell more heaven creating hell in mine but my MC also has to make sacrifices. I think that's what I like about YA lit so much, might just be me but when it's adult end-of-the-world-lit I never get as wrapped up in it. I look forward to reading more about your story. | |

| I'm with you there. Not sure why though. It could be that when it's YA we are with the MC as they grow and mature to take on these new responsibilities and life and death decisions. We may root for them more because they are still in the dawn of their lives and it wouldn't be fair to them to never live it. Or, maybe it's just that YA kicks butt and that it why we write it! Lol! ;-) | |
